The Coach

LEE MITCHELL

Lee Mitchell is the Head of Youth at Queens Park FC with over 12 years of experience in professional academy football. He holds a UEFA A Licence and Elite Youth A Licence — qualifications that place him among the most credentialed coaches in Scottish football development.

Track Record

Recently, Lee led Queens Park’s U17s and U19s teams to league titles. These weren’t luck — they were the result of meticulous coaching, structured development, and an uncompromising focus on player growth at the most critical stages of their careers.
His methodology is precise. Every session has a clear objective. Every player receives individual feedback. Every week builds on the last. Players who train under Lee come back sharper, faster, and tactically smarter than their competition — that’s what this camp delivers.

WHERE THIS LEADS

HARRIS AFZAL

Harris started in grassroots football at a local boys club. Lee identified his potential while scouting in the community and brought him into the Queens Park youth setup. Over the next 12 months, Lee worked intensively with Harris — refining his technique, building his tactical understanding, and developing the mentality needed to compete at the highest level.
By the end of that year, Harris had transformed. The improvement was undeniable. And in 2026, he signed for Southampton FC — a direct result of the coaching and development he received under Lee’s guidance.
“Lee’s coaching fundamentally changed my game. He didn’t just improve my technique — he changed how I think about football. The structured approach, the attention to detail, the intensity — that’s what got me to Southampton.” — Harris Afzal, Southampton FC
Harris’s journey is the direct result of the coaching and development structure you’ll experience at this camp. This is what happens when elite coaching meets ambitious players willing to work. This is what Lee builds.

Frequently asked questions

Do you coach goalkeepers?

Yes. A qualified Goalkeeper Coach will be in attendance each day, providing position-specific coaching for goalkeepers. Goalkeepers will also take part in the main sessions and games to develop their ability to play with their feet and contribute in possession-an essential part of the modern game.

What time do the sessions run?

Sessions run Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 1 pm across the week.

What standard do I need to be?

This camp is designed for ambitious players across a range of levels. You don’t need to be elite already — you need to be willing to work hard and be coachable. Lee tailors the intensity to each cohort, so you’ll be challenged appropriately for your age group and ability. What matters is attitude, not where you’re starting from.

Is accommodation provided?

This is a day-based camp, so accommodation is not included. Sessions run during daytime hours from Parklea Sports Facility in Port Glasgow, which is just 20 minutes from Glasgow city centre and easily accessible by car or public transport. Parents are welcome to drop off and pick up, or players can arrange transport with friends.

What should I bring?

Every player receives a personalised Nike training kit (shirt and shorts) designed specifically for Apex Sports Group. You’ll wear this throughout the camp. Bring shin guards, boots (studs), and a water bottle. Also bring a change of clothes and a towel for after training. A protein bar and a sports drink will be provided to you each day to help fuel your session

What's the refund policy?

Full refunds available up to 14 days before the camp start date. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable. If the camp is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll offer a full refund or transfer to a future date. Questions? Contact info@apexsportsgroup.uk.
